North Side Chronicle Features Priory's Adam Frye



We're pleased that our own Front Desk Supervisor Adam Frye was recognized by the statewide Pennsylvania Restaurant & Lodging Association as its Employee of the Year for 2015-16.

Adam's award is memorialized in this article by the North Side Chronicle newspaper.  It also discusses the Priory Hotel's involvement in the industry and community, and chats with Adam and I about our philosophy of hospitality.

Time Magazine: Pittsburgh in Nine Photos



Time Magazine put out a recent photo essay on Pittsburgh in nine photos, showing the new Pittsburgh which has emerged from the collapse of the steel industry thirty years ago.

The photo above shows a faded advertisement for the Uneeda Biscuit in Lawrenceville, which was the first cracker packaged for sale.  Nabisco (which had a large plant here, now known as Bakery Square) through its now parent company Kraft, discontinued the brand in 2010.

Priory Specials Support Catholic Charities

Once again the Priory Hotel is supporting Catholic Charities "Saving Grace" program, in which hospitality partners give a portion of proceeds from various special items which are available throughout the Lenten season to Catholic Charities of Pittsburgh,  Catholic Charities provides assistance in education, health and welfare to citizens of the metro region regardless of faith.

This year we're celebrating New Orleans with our "Not Pat O'Brien's Hurricane, a potent rum concoction by our Monks' Bar mixologist Nikki, and our "Priory Meets Bourbon Street" overnight package.  A portion of the sale price for each of these specialty items will be donated to Catholic Charites.
